How Mystic Tan Works
Mystic Tan is a booth located in a private room. You enter the room, disrobe, take care of some simple preparations (will be outlined later), step into the booth, and hit START. The rest is simple! The special nozzles located inside the booth will then spray you 15 seconds on your front side and on your back. Immediately after the spraying stops, you would exit the booth, remove your bouffant cap, and towel dry off with the bath towel provided. That's it! Now just put on your clothes and go on your merry way. About 4 hours later, get ready to be showered with compliments about your awesome color! Your color will look totally natural and will last for days. Many of our clients who tan in the 'normal' beds do Mystic Tan as well - especially on the same day. It's an incredible way to get a really dark tan for that special occasion that evening!

The MagneTan Technology
The secret behind the Mystic Tan is MagneTan Technology. MagneTan Technology services offer a unique, revolutionary process that allows the Mystic Tan booth to apply a uniform amount of solution to all parts of the body. When the special Mystic Tan solution passes through the booths nozzles, the particles of solution are polarized, taking on the characteristics of tiny magnets. MagneTan technology then uses the body's own magnetic properties to attract the solution particles to all exposed surfaces of the skin. The end result is a uniform and natural-looking, golden brown color!

The 3 Components
The Mystic Tan solution has three components:
1: The bronzer is a water-soluble dye designed to produce an instant tan. The brown bronzer will wash off in the shower or bath but will not affect your overall color!
2: The DHA produces long-term color. When applied to the skin, DHA reacts with proteins in the skins superficial layer to form a golden brown color. It begins to darken 4 hours after application and reaches its peak color within 24 hours. The DHA tan will begin to gradually fade through natural exfoliation, just like a tan from the sun. To maintain optimal color, you should tan every 5 days.
3: The Aloe Vera helps to carry the DHA deeper into the skin and promotes a softer, smoother finish. The Mystic Tan solution contains more than 65% stabilized Aloe Vera liquid. Aloe Vera is a natural moisturizer that helps the skin draw moisture to the surface. It softens the skin and helps smooth wrinkles.

Getting the Most from your Mystic Tan
Several factors will influence and greatly improve your Mystic Tan Results:
SKIN MOISTURE LEVEL: For best results, the night before, shave legs and exfoliate for all over even color during your Mystic session. It is essential to apply Sunless Prep™ immediately before your Mystic Tan session in order to achieve optimum results. We also recommend Bare Body Moisturizer™ after your daily shower, it has been proven extremely effective in prolonging your Mystic Tan color. Ask one of our tanning consultants for more details.
HAVE REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS: 90% of our customers get perfect results from their very first visit. Some will get a little nervous and forget to follow some simple instructions. That's OK! It's a learning process and by your 2nd or 3rd visit you'll be a pro at it. Also, most imperfections can be eliminated by additional applications so if your results aren't 100% perfect from the first session, don't worry, just go again and they will be. Also, keep in mind that very small imperfections are probably noticed only by YOU as we're usually our own worst critics. Other people will be too busy admiring your great new look!

Mystic Tan- FAQ
1. Is it safe?
All of the components in the Mystic solution have been used in food and/or cosmetics for several decades. If you have ever had any adverse effects utilizing self-tanning products or moisturizers you might experience similar effects with the Mystic solution.

2. Will it turn me orange?
When the special Mystic solution passes through the booth's nozzles, the particles of solution are polarized taking on the characteristics of 'tiny magnets'. MagneTan technology then uses the body's own magnetic properties to attract the solution particles to all surfaces of the skin. When the Mystic process is finished, the customer simply steps out of the booth, towels-off any excess mist dresses, and exits. The result is a uniform, natural-looking tan in less than 60 seconds.

3. What should I wear in the Mystic booth?
Many people don't wear anything. The room is completely private and if you would like to Mystic Tan in the nude it is perfectly acceptable. However, if you do wear a bathing suit, underwear or anything else, please be aware that whatever you wear may be stained. The bronzer we use for your initial color is water-soluble and should wash out of anything you wear, but the DHA applied may cause permanent stains on any clothing you may wear inside the booth.

4. Will I be wet when I step out of the Mystic booth?
The mist applied in the Mystic booth is very fine, much like the mist floating in the air on a foggy day. By the time you step out of the booth most of the mist will have dried but there may still be a few moist areas. You may see small droplets clinging to any body hair on your arms or legs. This remaining moisture can be removed quite easily by toweling dry. Do not worry about wiping off the solution with the towel. Toweling does not streak the tan and any solution that comes off on the towel was excess and will not affect your tan.

5. How long after a Mystic session before I can put my clothes back on?
Once you have towel dried there is little chance of the bronzer or DHA getting on your clothes. I f you pursue any strenuous physical activity after your Mystic session, perspiration may cause some of the bronzer to transfer to your clothing. Since the bronzer is completely water-soluble it will wash out.

6. How many times do I need to use the Mystic process to achieve the color I want?
You will have color after one session, but it may take an additional session or two to achieve your desired color. Once you reach the color you desire you should be able to maintain it by tanning every five days.

7. If I use the Mystic Tan booth, can I also tan in tanning beds and in the sun?
Yes. There is nothing in the Mystic solution that would prevent you from tanning in tanning beds or in the sun. In fact, a number of customers have found that tanning with UV rays before the Mystic solution actually gives them a better overall tan. Remember however, that a Mystic tan does not give you any protection from the sun's UV rays.

8. Will my Mystic Tan be even, or will some parts of my body get darker than others?
The Mystic booth is designed to provide as even a color as possible. However, customers will have different heights and shapes, and may stand in different positions. It is possible that you will find some areas of your tan lighter than others. In most cases this difference disappears after several Mystic sessions.

9. I have fair skin and have never been able to tan. Will the Mystic booth give me color?
Yes. The Mystic booth was designed specifically for individuals who can't or don't want to tan conventionally.

10. I usually break out in freckles when I try to tan. Will the Mystic solution make my freckles come out?
No. There is nothing in the Mystic solution that will cause more freckles to break out. In fact, most cases, freckles and blemishes will become less pronounced because the lighter skin areas will darken and reduce the color differentiation between the blemishes and the rest of your skin.

11. Will I get better color if I have two sessions in the same day?
Yes, spraying twice in the same day will give you a darker tan, but we do not recommend back-to-back sessions. Mystic spraying back-to-back doesn't give the DHA a chance to set between tans and increases the chance that color may have an orange glow. Waiting 12 to 24 hours between sessions will eliminate this potential problem.

12. How long do I have to wait after a Mystic session before I can shower?
We recommend that you wait four hours after a session to give the DHA enough time to fully set. If you shower earlier, you may diminish the intensity of the tan. When you do shower the initial tan created by the water-soluble bronzer will wash off, but the DHA will remain and create your long term color.

13. Will it make me feel sticky like lotions do?
No. Once you leave the Mystic booth and dry off, your skin will feel soft and pliable because of the moisturizing components. It will not feel sticky.

14. What happens if the Mystic mist gets in my eyes?
Because of the moisturizing components in the mist, your eyes may feel itchy or scratchy but there is nothing in the mist that will harm your eyes.

15. Do I need to cover my hair while in the Mystic booth?
Many customers wear disposable shower caps (provided by the salon) to keep the solution from getting in their hair. Other customers Mystic Tan without covering their hair. We have not had any cases where the solution has changed anyone's hair color.

16. Has anyone had an allergic reaction to the chemicals used in the Mystic solution?
No. All of the components of the Mystic solution have been used in cosmetics and food products for decades and have proven to be safe for use on the skin.

17. Do I need to hold my breath during the Mystic session? What happens if I breathe in the mist? Will the mist make me sick?
We recommend that you hold your breathe during the actual misting process, which lasts for 15 seconds per cycle. We make this recommendation because most individuals would prefer not to breathe in the mist even though there is nothing in it that would cause any harm if you did breathe it. If you have a history of asthma or any other respiratory illnesses we do not recommend that you use the Mystic booth until consulting with your physician.

18. Will the components of the Mystic solution make my skin have an unpleasant smell?
Some customers have commented that they noticed a 'starchy' smell on their skin after their Mystic session, but it's usually not noticeable to others around them.
